Pulled in all directions

Good morning gentle-nerds!

I won’t be writing a huge update this time around; you’re probably still in shock after my last one. I just wanted to write a few quick words about what ENL-I is currently up to.

Nullsec has become a little stagnant as of late, and to combat our boredom we’ve deployed to several different regions which has resulted in a varied and active PvP roster. We’re in Pure Blind right now taking cloakies, SFIs and talwars into CFC space. We’re in Fountain battling the Bulgarian menace with the Frenchies. We’re hitting lowsec Aridia and we’re also deployed to HED to battle the russkies. It’s great to be able to provide so many different types of PvP to my members, and most people have ships in every deployment zone and they just pod to the appropriate station when a fleet goes up.

We’ve got some big changes coming to ENL-I soon. Our website wizards are currently working on a brand new custom coded auth system which will pave the way for new interactive services for the corp. We will have a brand new forum (the current beta looks awesome!), new auth squads and we’re also getting a brand new ENL-I.com! We are expanding our staff team and really shaking things up.

Nullsec may be stagnating, but we’re staying on our toes for when the new patch arrives which promises to throw nullsec into turmoil!

Still going strong

PvPing Yo!

The Academy is still going strong despite the lack of updates.

We recently deployed to Torrinos, which gives us access into Pure Blind where several entities have deployed to mess with the CFC. It has been a lot of fun and we’ve had some nice kills, and got into some pretty big fights.

We are still mucking about in lowsec, so there’s a constant stream of fights.

Teach me god-damnit!

The Academy staff have been working hard on improving our teaching materials, including our Wiki which is growing nicely. We do regular classes, regular slow-paced roams and of course we give you access to our large community where you can ask as many newbie questions as you like.

We’re moving in the right direction, but there’s still work to be done. Academy dudes moving over to ENL-I prove to be fantastic recruits so we’re really happy with how we have done so far.

Now what?

Another deployment soon, now that the CFC have dropped the fist of pain on us (dropping supers/titans and hellcamping us). Not entirely sure where we’re going, but it’ll be fun!

ENL-I Blog Post

Hello folks, remember us?

Wow! It’s been a while since I made a corp update. January in fact! Why the delay? Well, we had some active campaigns so we closed recruitment but truth be told I’ve been focusing my efforts in some other areas and my blog posts were put on the back burner.

I’m finally getting on top of things now though, so expect to see my regular updates again.

So what has ENL-I been up to recently? Well, we went to Geminate to mess with Brick Squad (protip: Geminate sucks), and although they undocked more than Li3 did we found the whole experience rather depressing. During our campaign several hostile forces deployed to our home region, Delve, and began a vicious assault against our coalition (the HBC) so we were recalled home – we like to think we rode like white knights to the rescue of our alliance. (NOTE: others would argue against that).

Get Off My Lawn

Did I really just use the name of an alliance as the title of this section? One who weren’t even in Delve? Oh dear, yes I did but it fits.

The Goons, the Ruskies and the, errr, I can’t really say “Blacks” so I’ll go with the Black Legions, all deployed to various points around our home region and began assaulting us. Goons brought a lot of good fights straight to our front door, whilst also cloaky camping our ratters. Black Legion staged in low-sec and began sieging our money towers, and after -A- collapsed a new entity was born: Darkness of Despair, who also encompass the remnants of Gypsy Band, a very more than capable alliance, and they started hitting our assets in Stain and Esotaria.

Not only this but our beloved Pandemic Legion decided to take a break from life in the coalition and so we, TEST, were left to defend our several regions of space from highly experienced and organised aggressors on three different fronts – don’t worry, I don’t blame you, we all thought we would fail too.

But no, fail we did not, push back our aggressors we did and oh my god where did Yoda come from?

We welped repeatedly. We suffered from internal strife. But our autism proved strong and we did what TEST does best; throw several hundred people at a problem till it goes away. And it did go away. We proved victorious insomuch that our enemies got sick of being outnumbered a bazillion to one and left. Yaaay.

Joking aside, many believed without Pandemic Legion that TEST would falter, would lose its strength and that the HBC as a whole would suffer. This led to feelings that should PL leave the HBC for whatever reason we would collapse – hell, I believed that myself. But this assault on the HBC and our subsequent survival and dominance shows that even without PL we are a powerful force, if a little unstable.

The CFC

I’m sure many of you reading this will know of the ‘other’ coalition in the game, the CFC, which is led by the Goons. You may or may not be aware that TEST was once a member of this coalition but, wanting to find our own path in the game, left and formed our own coalition: the HBC. Since our departure relations with the CFC have deteriorated and there has even been a lot of talk about war.

Most line members want a war, because we feel it would generate a lot of content. Either sides leadership doesn’t want that to happen because the reality of such a war makes you want to tear your eyes out and poor lemon juice into the wound (possibly with some Tequila to get this party started).

What is the reality? I believe it was Shadoo who summed it up. With current sov mechanics, if the Goons were to completely abandon their space it would take the HBC a minimum of 6 months just to grind through structures. If Goons didn’t evac but stayed, the war would last approx 2 and a half years.

I think you’ll agree that those figures are quite frightening.

The fact of the matter is, a sov war of this magnitude would most likely burn out the majority of both coalitions, mostly in upper leadership circles. Hence why it is so important we put people into the CSM to picket for change, because without a major change to sov mechanics I doubt we’ll see another major war for a long time.

Enlightened Industries, Please Ignore

So ENL-I is doing well. We’ve now surpassed 500 members, even without updating our recruitment threads, and we regularly have upwards of 70 members online. We’re still number 2 on the TEST KB, 2nd only to Dreddit and this month we’ve had over 3000 kills, which sees us sitting in 12th place on EVE-Kill’s Top 20 Corps.

Away from KB statistics, ENL-I indy is building a lot of capitals and helping out immensely in the coalition logistics wise. We’re also very socially active, always on comms chatting about nothing and we have an Easter party tonight which will see us get drunk, try to sing some Gangsta rap and generally have fun.

We’ve deployed to X-7O, which is in Pure Blind, and have had fun killing Goon ratting carriers and making FA mad. FA are so mad they’ve decided to hellcamp our station; we’ll see how long that lasts.

Bob by to ENL-I for a chat today!

Brief Academy Update

March 4, 2013 by Lovelocke No Comments »

Well we took the Academy to Geminate to mess with Li3. We also got blue standings with Pandemic Legion and began flying with them too. Unfortunately, Vale is empty. We found very few people in Li3′s space; it’s like a ghost town. There are rumours there’s a big spat going on between them and some other CFC members, but that’s another story. Suffice to say, this is the second time the Academy has gone to Geminate, and each time it has been rather quiet.

We’ll be moving them soon to a new deployment, again in nullsec, which will hopefully provide a lot more content.

In between nullsec fights, we have a regular spot in Tama which offers a rich variety of small gang PvP, so although it isn’t nullsec it still provides that PvP we want.

We finished February with 260 kills; not quite as many as January, but only a few less. March has already began with a bang so we’re hoping to make it a record breaking month.

As always, head to ENL-A for a chat if you’re looking to get into PvP – new or old.

Enlightened Academy begins its second nullsec deployment

Well, it’s been an exciting couple of days for the Academy.

They have been running their usual operations around the Tama area, scoring some nice kills and getting involved in some bigger fights. And while this was going on I was looking at a new deployment for them; and I settled on Vale of the Silent.

A member of ENL-I’s coalition, Li3 Federation, broke off and rejoined the CFC (our rivals, so to speak), and were handed space in Vale. I decided it would be good fun if our Academy dudes welcomed Li3 into their new home.

The thrashers have been purchased and moved, the newbies have been debriefed and the FCs are getting ready.

Suffice to say they’re really excited, and ENL-I will be joining them for cheap thrills and, hopefully, lots of tears.

Let the slaughter begin!
